Local focus present in one-third of mobile Google searches, says search giant's mobile ad bosses

Google executives present at a Mobile Marketing and Advertising event scheduled to take place at the same time as the CTIA conference in Las Vegas said that fully one-third of all Google mobile searches are focused on localized content, according to news site Mobile Marketing Watch.

Google mobile ads group product manager Paul Feng told the website that "we think of location as a hugely important signal," which prompted Mobile Marketing Watch to note that "the mobile industry seems to concur, as some analysts now project that location-based mobile spending will top $4 billion in 2015. That's a mind-blowing increase from the relatively paltry $34 million spent just last year."

The skyrocketing popularity of mobile web access provides digital marketing professionals with a golden opportunity to access a new customer base, but they must learn the lessons of localization well in order to take full advantage. Mobile could also become an important part of integrated marketing campaigns as new products and marketing services become available.ADNFCR-3041-ID-19685570-ADNFCR
