Twitter prepares to sign deal with Yahoo for social media network integration

Following in the footsteps of Google and Microsoft, Yahoo is reportedly getting ready to sign a deal with microblogging service Twitter to integrate Tweets into several of its online services.
Paid Content reports that "in addition, Yahoo says that all of its properties - including News, Finance, Entertainment and Sports - will soon feature 'real-time public Twitter updates.' And like Microsofts Bing and Google, Yahoo will also add real-time Twitter results to its search engine."
The integration of Twitter into Yahoo should help boost the microblogging service's profile as a valuable part of integrated marketing campaigns, since its reach will expand greatly. And given the pending partial merger between Bing and Yahoo, the addition should help the two user bases combine more smoothly.
CMS Wire notes that the deal is similar to one that Yahoo already has in place with Facebook, which allows users to update their status from a number of places in Yahoo's system. Google, however, has taken a different approach, prominently displaying real-time Twitter results for some search engine results pages but not integrating the microblogging service as deeply into its other web apps.
