Mobile marketing trade association releases new set of best practices

Published April 27, 2010

New guidelines for mobile online marketing released Monday by the Mobile Marketing Association should help digital marketers targeting the mobile segment be even more successful with their campaigns.

Kristine van Dillen, the MMA's director of industry initiatives and partnerships, said that "the MMA Consumer Best Practices Guidelines continue to provide the industry-standard reference that every member of the mobile marketing ecosystem turns to when they need definitive answers for ensuring consistency and protecting the consumer experience." She went on to add that the twin goals of the guidelines were "consistency and protecting the consumer experience."

The new guidelines should help digital marketing professionals negotiate the differences between the four major U.S. wireless carriers - AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint - and the group says that this will end the need for four separate "playbooks" for dealing with each individual firm.

Experts say that, given the rapid growth of internet-enabled devices among the general public, the mobile marketing sector is gaining even more momentum as an important part of integrated marketing campaigns going forward.ADNFCR-3041-ID-19744880-ADNFCR
